Integrative Psychiatry: my weekly LinkedIn newsletter for healthcare professionals

Alongside the articles published on this website, I have created a dedicated space on LinkedIn to share clinical updates, medical reflection, and useful content for healthcare professionals interested in rigorous, humane, integrative psychiatry. The newsletter is called Psiquiatría Integrativa and is designed as a weekly bulletin offering a thoughtful reading experience, without noise and with real clinical application.

In medicine, the problem is no longer simply accessing information. It is selecting information worth reading. There are too many headlines, too much simplification, and too much haste. This is particularly noticeable in mental health: every week brings studies, guidelines, cases in the media, new molecules, ethical debates, and social changes that may affect clinical practice.

That is why I wanted to create a newsletter with a simple idea:
less noise, more clinical judgment.

1) What “Psiquiatría Integrativa” is

Psiquiatría Integrativa is my LinkedIn newsletter: a weekly bulletin for healthcare professionals and readers with a clinical interest in mental health. Its aim is to share useful updates, analyses, and reflections through evidence-based psychiatry that remains open to understanding the whole person: biology, sleep, habits, psychotherapy, social context, inflammation, pain, metabolism, trauma, and meaning in life.

Evidence

Critical reading of studies, clinical guidelines, reviews, advances in psychopharmacology, and emerging mental health topics.

Integration

A perspective that does not artificially separate mind and body: sleep, inflammation, pain, lifestyle, nutrition, stress, and social networks matter.

Clinical application

Content designed to help think more clearly about real cases, guide referrals, understand symptoms, and communicate more precisely.

The idea is not to replace specialist training or clinical consultations but to offer a weekly medical read with judgment, synthesis, and usefulness.

2) Why a newsletter on LinkedIn

LinkedIn has become a particularly useful space for conversations with healthcare professionals, physicians, psychologists, nurses, physical therapists, nutritionists, healthcare managers, healthcare lawyers, and people interested in mental health from a professional perspective.

The website allows in-depth articles to be published and ranked on Google. LinkedIn offers something complementary: a more direct, regular, professional conversation.

On this website, you will find long articles, guides, clinical pages, and more structured resources. On LinkedIn, the newsletter allows more agile weekly updates.

3) Topics the newsletter will cover

Topics will align with my clinical practice and the content I develop on this website: evidence-based psychiatry, integrative mental health, psychopharmacology, psychotherapy, addictions, sleep, anxiety, depression, trauma, psychosomatic medicine, women’s mental health, adolescents, grief, neurodivergence, and forensic psychiatry when clinically relevant.

Some recurring themes

  • ✓

    Thoughtful psychopharmacology

New treatments, safety, indications, adverse effects, complex cases, and shared decision-making.

  • ✓

    Serious integrative psychiatry

Sleep, habits, nutrition, exercise, inflammation, the gut-brain axis, and life context, always distinguishing strong evidence from emerging hypotheses.

  • ✓

    Mental health and general medicine

Fatigue, pain, headache, tinnitus, dermatology, endocrinology, oncology, menopause, the perinatal period, and symptoms at the intersection of body and mind.

  • ✓

    Addictions and craving

Alcohol, cannabis, benzodiazepines, opioids, gambling, screens, compulsive behavior, harm reduction, and medical treatment.

  • ✓

Complex clinical presentations and cases at the boundaries

Treatment-resistant depression, suicide risk, euthanasia, decision-making capacity, complicated grief, trauma, and ethical dilemmas in mental health.

4) Who it is designed for

The newsletter is particularly intended for healthcare professionals and people working in fields connected to mental health.

Physicians and specialists

Psychiatrists, family physicians, internists, neurologists, gynecologists, pediatricians, dermatologists, oncologists, emergency physicians, and other professionals who identify mental distress in consultations.

Psychology and clinical teams

Psychologists, nurses, social workers, therapists, multidisciplinary teams, and professionals who need a coordinated perspective.

Nonphysician healthcare professionals

Nutrition, physical therapy, speech-language therapy, clinical psychoneuroimmunology, integrative medicine, and other fields working with complex symptoms.

Healthcare and forensic lawyers

Professionals interested in capacity, psychological harm, psychiatric expert assessments, occupational mental health, family matters, malpractice, and medicolegal assessment.

Important: the newsletter does not replace individual clinical assessment, accredited training, or professional supervision. It is a resource for updates and reflection.

5) Its editorial style

The style will be the same one I try to maintain on this website: clinical, clear, rigorous, and applicable.

Without oversimplifying

Mental health is rarely understood through a single cause. The newsletter will aim to organize complexity without turning it into noise.

Without selling trends

New treatments, psychedelics, microbiota, neuroinflammation, GLP‑1, the gut-brain axis, or biomarkers: high interest, but with caution.

With a clinical perspective

The aim is for readers to ask themselves: “How does this help me think more clearly about a patient, a referral, or a clinical decision?”

With human sensitivity

Evidence matters. But in psychiatry, history, relationships, life stories, support networks, shame, and the meaning of symptoms also matter.

6) How to subscribe

You can access the newsletter directly through LinkedIn and click the subscribe button. LinkedIn will manage delivery of new editions according to your account and notification settings.

7) Why I am also introducing it on my website

From now on, Thursdays on this website may also introduce lasting resources: new clinical pages, service areas, professional reputation content, and spaces to follow my work beyond the blog.

The LinkedIn newsletter will be one such space. It complements this website rather than competing with it. The website allows depth, SEO, and clinical architecture. LinkedIn allows professional conversation, weekly updates, and direct dissemination.

The aim is to build a coherent content ecosystem: clinical articles, static pages, mental health resources, a professional newsletter, and high-quality healthcare communication.
